چکیده

Mapping surface water distribution and its dynamics over various environments with robust methods is essential for managing resources supporting water-related policy design. Thresholding Single Water Index image (TSWI) threshold a common way of using index (WI) mapping it easy to use could obtain acceptable accuracies in many applications. As more WIs are available each has distinct merits, the real-world application TSWI, however, often face two practical concerns: (1) selection an appropriate WI (2) determination given WI. These issues problematic users who rely either on trial-and-error procedures that time-consuming or their personal preferences somewhat subjective. To better deal these concerns, alternative suggested here by transforming current paradigm into simple but ensemble approach called Collaborative Decision-making Indices (CDWI). A total 145 subsite images (900 × 900 m) from 22 Landsat-8 OLI scenes covering water-land around world were used assess performance TSWI CDWI. Five benchmark adopted five CDWI method: Normalized Difference (NDWI), Modified NDWI (MNDWI), Automated Extraction without considering (AWEI0) (AWEI1) shadows, state-of-the-art 2015 (WI2015). Two aspects analyzed: comparing (indicated both F1-scores Youden’s Index) accuracy sensitivities threshold. The results demonstrate produced higher than other most cases. Particularly, cases percentage) methods, i.e. 67% (CDWI) vs. 15% (TSWINDWI), 54% 22% (TSWIMNDWI), 42% 12% (TSWIAWEI0), 57% 17% (TSWIAWEI1), 34% (TSWIWI2015). Moreover, F1-score less sensitive change thresholds compared methods. important benefits make water. uncertainty method was thoroughly discussed general guidance (or look-up-table) determining parameters also suggested. underlying framework be readily generalizable applicable satellite images, such as Landsat TM/ETM+, MODIS, Sentinel-2 images.

Open Surface Water Mapping Algorithms: A Comparison of Water-Related Spectral Indices and Sensors

Open surface water bodies play an important role in agricultural and industrial production, and are susceptible to climate change and human activities. Remote sensing data has been increasingly used to map open surface water bodies at local, regional, and global scales. In addition to image statistics-based supervised and unsupervised classifiers, spectral indexand threshold-based approaches ha...

Investigation of Drought Stress Indices in Corn Surface Water Deficit

In order to study and evaluate the drought stress indices in surface irrigation by furrow method on grain yield, the yield components and water use efficiency, an experiment was conducted at Behbahan Agricultural Research Station in 2014-16. The experiment was conducted as a split plot in a randomized complete block design with 4 replications. Irrigation at two levels (irrigation after 100 and ...

Parametrically excited water surface ripples as ensembles of oscillons.

We show that ripples on the surface of deep water which are driven parametrically by monochromatic vertical vibration represent ensembles of oscillating solitons, or quasiparticles, rather than waves. The horizontal mobility of oscillons determines the broadening of spectral lines and transitions from chaos to regular patterns. It is found that microscopic additions of proteins to water dramati...

Association of water spectral indices with plant and soil water relations in contrasting wheat genotypes

Spectral reflectance indices can be used to estimate the water status of plants in a rapid, non-destructive manner. Water spectral indices were measured on wheat under a range of water-deficit conditions in field-based yield trials to establish their relationship with water relations parameters as well as available volumetric soil water (AVSW) to indicate soil water extraction patterns. Three t...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
